FAQ

Q: What does the retipping process entail?

A: When instruments are sent in for retipping the technicians heat both the tips and handles in order to loosen them from one another. Once the heat
is applied, they use a special tool to pull the old tips out of the handles. The empty handles are then sent to the assembly area where the
technicians use a special pressing tool to secure the new tips into the handles. The tips that are used for the retipping process are the same tips
that are inserted in brand new instruments. The only difference is when retipping we are using your original handles rather then one of our new handles.
Once the new tips are inserted into the handles the instruments are sent to the finishing department where the technicians sharpen them to perfection on special grinding wheels or belts. After the sharpening is completed the instruments are sent to the packing area where they are cleaned and packed to be returned to the customers.

Q: What is the turn around time?

A: The turn around time for retipping is 3-5 weeks. New instrument orders are sent out in 1 week.

Q: How do we send in an order?

A: First you need to fill out a customer order form found on our website with the office contact information, and a list of all the instruments that you are sending in. Then package up your STERILIZED order in bubble wrap or tissue paper and put it in a bubbled envelope or a box with the order form. Once your order is securely packaged you can send it out via mail or courier at your expense.
